Momentum = Ridiculous
« on: July 30, 2008, 12:22:48 AM »
Drilled up a momentum monday and went with a 3 1/2 x 3 drilling which puts the pin slightly to the right of the bridge and the cg just under my ring finger with a weight hole just 2 inches off the center of my palm on the horizontal line.  All I can say about this ball is WOW.  The first 4 games with this ball i went 278 279 279 267 for 1103 and an 836.  This ball has become my favorite already just after 4 games, ball is just straight sick.  Miss a lil inside ball holds line, miss right the ball comes back and just shreds the rack.

Are you going to be throwing it tonight?  Did you get any of your other stuff drilled up yet?

Marc,
Are you talking about the swing or regular momentum?
Curious does it handle oil well?

just the momentum, waiting on my order to go through on the swing.  I have this ball sanded down to 1000 so yeah it handles oil well.  I try not to keep my bowling balls polished unless its a low end ball or i have a controled drilling on the ball.  but i threw it a couple of times in my monday night league during practice on the our so called USBC masters pattern and it handled real well.  hope that answers your question

Good ball if you have very little hand.  Guy in my league is a stroker and doesn't do much with the ball.  He went from 195 average to about a 210 avg in fall with this ball.  Averaged 218 this summer enough said.  If you rip the cover off the ball may be too much.   Could be a good ball if it suits your game?

Mine just never hooked which resulted in getting rid of it. I was surprised but it was just super weak. I had a couple decent games with it, but had a lot of bad games with it too so I got rid of it. I had the #1 drilling on it. I just wonder if thats what it was that made it so weak. I never did understand why they recommend a label leverage drilling on there stuff. It was super smooth and too much like my Rival, which is oil soaked, so it didn't have a spot in my bag. I thought about drilling another one with a different pattern on it but never did. I was thinking about the swing but I think I might drill a complete nv cause I know what that ball does.

The Momentum Swing looks very promising more aggresive than the Momentum.  I haven't seen a comparison to the complete nv yet but I would guess the NV is more flippy and angular.

i had one before i signed on with columbia in may and wasnt to sure about it so i got rid of it.  but now that i've signed and got two more, i love it.  i rarely ever do go with the drill sheets just cause i'm always looking for a different ball reaction.  the swing wont be as flipy as the complete nv, due to the surface being at 2000.  from what i've seen and heard, the swing is a couple of feet earlier then the momentum.  but will still give you that columbia reaction of being archy.  cant wait to have mine in my hands soon

If you would have shot 536, would you post how bad the ball sucked ?

i rarely ever say a ball sucks.  if i dont think the reaction is what i'm looking for, i dont say it sucks, but i'll try different things to get the desired reaction.  i would never say a ball sucks.  there is just bad reactions, not bad balls

 Hello

 I'm not to familiar with Columbia and I am thinking about trying them out and in particular I was thinking about either of theses two the Momentum or its counter part the Momentum Swing.

 After reading this thread my question is on a regular THS shot is the Momentum Swing stronger then the Momentum?

thanks guys
