New ball
« on: July 05, 2010, 02:25:36 AM »
Thinking of getting a symmetrical piece that is a little more rolly and could help me on the us open pattern and similar patterns. I know the layout im going with pin down 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 weight hole down.

These are the three balls im thinking of......The burst. Reminds me a lot of the resurgence and I think I would match up well with this ball at 2000. The Reign of Fire. I really like storm and this ball looks really rolly to me. Finally the Revolver. I have seen a few of the staff members throw it in a few tournaments and was impressed.

Any feed back or opinions on these balls or anyother ones you might suggest. Just remember trying to stay with a symmetrical ball around 1000-2000 area.

Words of advise. Limiting your self to just one company is never smart. Get proven balls out on the market. Global, Storm inc, Ebonite international, er what ever it may be.

For what it's worth I think the Wild Card would serve the purpose better than the Revolver.  I say you've got the right idea with the other two though.  I can't tell you which one to get though, I'd go with the one that appeals most to you.  For me that'd probably be the Reign of Fire.

The Burst is the Resurgence. Polished and re-released. That's what I've heard.

The Reign of Fire is VERY strong. I've heard from bowlers with a lot of hand that it has a double motion. It has a strong coverstock that picks up very early and then the weight block sends it left off the back of the pattern. Don't think this would be what you're looking for, but maybe I'm wrong.

The Revolver is really nice. Very smooth. I threw a demo revolver drilled pin above bridge, cg in the center of the palm. I might suggest this one, but it's also very strong. If you're looking for something strong, and even, the revolver may be the way to go.

But, if you can get your hands on a Total Bedlam or Full Swing or Pure Swing, you might go with any of those 3 pin down. Very even balls.

I think the Burst is the best piece for a couple reasons. It has a proven track record, also it has been having much more success from people I have seen with it or heard that had it then the other 2 balls. The reign of fire can be to early and leave you scratching your head as far as ball reaction, and the revolver is new and unproven. Given bwicks past releases being almost hit or complete miss I would go with the Burst by far, plus I own one and absolutely love mine.
