Just this sunday i was bowling in a monthly tournament we have.  tournament travels from house to house and has handicap based on 90% of 210.  I have a 213 average in the tournament.  Well this month the house put down a shot that was their normal amount of oil but about 4-5 feet longer.  oil down to about 45 feet.  I took out my Wild and watched it roll down expecting it to turn up any minute, but it just never made a strong move.  took out my storm trauma and watched it slide even longer than the wild did.  finally said why not go out and grab my old Rock (it was in the car).  went and grabbed it and it took me about 2 shots to find the shot.  12 out to 8 and that ball would come up and just slam into the pocket.  ended up rolling 223,223,237,237 for the round 1 4 game block.  ended up in first place in the tournament (nobody was rolling well).  next game i went up against the 8th place qualifier (last place qualifier) and rolled 225.  qualified 2nd for the round robin.  came up against this kid that had 49 pins on me and was shooting lights out.  he rolled 215 and made me punch the first 2 in the tenth.  first shot was a little sloppy but the next one was right on the money.  rolled 268 and beat him by 4 pins.  finally in the last game i strung the first 5 or 6 on him and wound up beating him in the end with a 246.  averaged 237 for the tournament (a new high average for me) in 7 games.  when i first brought the Rock out i thought it would work good but i didn't know it was going to destroy the lanes.  i was just waiting for a 300 but not this time.  did roll 739 for my last 3 though .  i'd have to say that the best thing about the tournament yesterday though is that a person with 0, zipola, notta handicap wound up winning the tournament.
