Panic?
« on: April 30, 2005, 06:38:22 AM »
well i am thinking about doing a free ball league, i pay $15 a week for 10 weeks to bowl in a league, and at the end you get a free ball any ball ( most expensive in shop is 230) i want to get a ball worth my while, but also want something to fit good in line up.  I have currently:
Arc-very aggresive can handle much oil HARD arc
Throttle- smooth arc, many games, can still handle oil well, but not as strog as arc
blue wicked-very snappy holds and snaps hard
red wicked-very smooth controlled polished, for broken down conditions though it really hooks too much for broken down,
spare ball

i was thinking panic, but as said i want to get a good ball for money, want something C300 anything else i should be looking into, ( can't get PROFESSIONAL )

well with that kind of an arsonal it would be hard to encounter a lane condition that you wont be prepared for so basicaly you will be replacing one of your balls, with that sayd the panic works well on med to med-light oil and can handel a little carry-down, basicaly its a good choice

Throttle R is much whippier in back.

I own both.

Throttle/r and Panic.  Very different!  Both great!
Throttle/r is skid very hard slurve.  Panic is a smooth
performer with a small whip at end of its motion if drilled stacked!

PS I also own a Bonanza version of the Wired, sweet!  Lots of lenght and then this 1 inch pin out sucker flips hard and covers few boards but fast and hard and packs a punch.

Just my opinion, BUT, why not go for the most expensive ball then sell it? Then get what you want.

Especially when you consider that you're paying $150 for those 10 weeks, which includes bowling as well.  $150 for bowling PLUS a free $230 ball?  Where do I sign up?

i considered buying and selling also, but this proshop does not make many sales, and not many people come to this bowling alley, so not many people will want to buy, i don't like to mess with ebay so i am just gonna get a ball.  I would like to throw this into the mix, the throttle is dieing, used to be strongest ball, now almost even with blue wicked ( just a little stronger but getting weaker.)  Should i consider a panic still or maybe something to replace throttle, should i look for a particle ball even with the possible illegalzation of them in a while

The Panic is more of a medium-light oil ball, very smooth up front and a nice snap at the back. It will skid too far if there's more than medium oil or if you don't have a lot of hand.

On the right conditions this ball performs super well- but it will be a ball that tells you when it needs to go back in the back. Sounds like it may fit in well with what you have.
