It will probably make the reaction really skid flippy.  That pin placement should be in the 5 inch area which will promote length and the MB placement should make the backend reaction really strong.

Oops, Steve, you forgot to check his profile. It seems to say (PAP 3 3/4" over, 1 3/8" up) that pin would be close to leverage and the CG would be close to his PAP. The ball would probably make that close to a skid/flip reaction on an oil pattern such as he describes in his profile.

If he plays the lane such that he doesn't send the ball out to the dry too early, but makes sure, Hammer33, that you hit enough oil, he should be safe.

If necessary, you could try hitting it with 2000 grit, but probably will need 4000 grit Abralon pad, if the ball gets too skid/flippy, that is, becomes too over/under.

If he has a PAP of 3 3/4 with a pin placement under the middle finger, how is that going to be leverage?  If anything..maybe in the 4 1/4 - 4 1/2.

No disrespect intended to Charlest at all.  I did read your profile before my initial remarks.  Upon further thoughts about this, maybe 5 inches was over estimating.  I think it would place the pin around 4 1/4 to 4 3/8 from your PAP.  The MB should be around 3 1/2 or so from your PAP.  This should help to get the ball to rev up in the midlane and have a strong, continuous backend reaction.

BTW...What is the length of your span?

Okay.  I basically just wrote the payout on a piece of paper.  That means your center of grip is approximately 2 1/4 from your fingers.  That should place the pin about 2 inches above your midline.  SO....that in mind, the MB being 6 3/4 inches from pin through cg, that should place the MB roughly 3 1/2 to 4 inches below the midline.  Add that to the 1 3/8 up to the PAP, the MB is going to be around 5 inches plus from your PAP.  In other words, your layout is going to be about 4 1/2 x 5 approximately.  This should help give you a ball that should read the mids pretty well, stand up, and roll pretty hard on the backend.  Hope this clears things up a little.

yup, I misread what I thought you misread. It'll be about 3 3/4" + 1/2 - 3/4" or 4 1/4- 4 1/2".

Maybe it would be better if it were under the ring finger.

Yes.  Simply because after looking at the other layouts on the balls you currently have, you do not have anything with the pin that far from your axis point.  Also....with the low rg of the Action Packed, the ball is already going to want to rev in the midlane, so there is no need to put the pin in a leverage position.  Kick that pin to about 4 1/2 from your axis with the cg near the center of your grip.  Should give the ball a little push with strong backend.
