What has happened to the language filter?

There used to be a language filter to get the 4 letter words, etc, out of posts.
I've noticed more and more getting through - did the filter get turned off?

The filter is still on, but people found a way to use tags to get around it.

I thought this was about Spanish or German, that kind of language....  Looks like it's about French, hee hee,
