Another Hook Again Review
« on: September 20, 2003, 10:12:41 PM »
After getting decent to excellent results from Ebonite's Hook Again product, I decided to put my old Command Zone through the process just for fun.

Before using the product I manually roughened up the ball's surface with a Maroon scotch-brite pad soaked with tap water and a good amount of Track's Clean N' Dull. After wiping it dry I put the ball through the treatment process for 48 hours instead of the usual 24, following which I had it polished up using some Brunswick Factory Finish High Gloss polish.

When I finally got the chance to use the ball, I was simply AMAZED by its reaction. The damn ball was reacting like it was new again....you know, that trademark SUPER SNAP at the backend that just crunches the pocket to oblivion...yup! Its back! . Its almost like having another Inferno again! And bear in mind that the lane conditions was towards the oilier side with some carrydown.

Now I know this *might* have something to do with the use of Clean N' Dull or even the factory gloss polish...but I'm quite certain its the Hook again because the ball showed very little oil rings while I was using it for 3 games. Thank you Ebonite!

Next ball on the treatment list: An oil-logged Columbia Complete Chaos.

Rev-less, let me know how your test on the oil logged Complete Chaos goes.  I've got 3 saturated Completes running amock around the house, and of course all 3 of them are well beyond dead.  I'm very curious if you can restore the original action of it, and I'm thinking about the idea of treating a ball that has just been through the Hook Again process with Doc's Elixer.
