Saw this at the local NAPA and decided to give it a try on my bowling ball.
Tested it out on a ball I don't really like to see what happens. Sprayed it down, lot it soak for a few minutes, wiped it off with a paper towel, and the ball came out feeling very clean with a nice tacky feel.
It looked like it was actually drawing oil out and beading up as it soaked.

I may have stumbled onto a GOOD cheap cleaner here. It seems like it should be pretty safe to use, I don't see anything about it that looks like it would be harmful to a ball.

Since, you intimated that it costs to submit a cleaner to USBC....how much is that fee?

Until someone pays USBC $100.00 to test/approve this product, it can't be used during competition.

Thanks now I see that. I would assume that is the cost to submit a product to test. Small peanuts compared to the big picture.

Look at the PBA registration fees and now that's exorbitant.

I purchased this product approximately two years ago for a variety of clean up chores around the house and in the garage. It's ability to clean up oil is truly amazing. It sucked up the oil spills and leaks in my garage without effort. For whatever reason, I tried it on one of the many, way too many, bowling balls I have in the closet. I didn't try it because it was inexpensive, I tried it for the same reason I buy bowling ball upon bowling ball - searching for the one that's magic but, in this case a magic cleaner. I have in all probability, tried them all and for me clean and dull and lane masters simply stand above the rest. With that being said, this product is no less than equal and maybe better because of its oil sucking ability. I've used it on many of my top of the line bowling balls for prolonged periods of time without any damage what-so-ever to my bowling balls - the result always being a deep and effortless cleaning. However, once I cleaned the ball with this product, I then used an established bowling ball cleaner like Storm or Brunswick to remove any possible residue left behind from this product - although there never seemed to be any. Again, my objective was not to find an inexpensive cleaner but rather, it was to find a "magic" cleaner. This product works and it does clean a bowling ball exceptionally well but, so do acetone and brake cleaner. I've since evolved and no longer use this product. It wasn't magic because it didn't make me bowl better and that was the bottom line. I now exclusively use USBC bowling ball cleaners - they don't make me bowl any better either, but they are legal. Just makes me feel better.

I used to use Simple Green a long time ago, I had a pair oiled with just a 41 foot house Pattern, nothing special went home cleaned the ball with Simple Green. Went back had them re oil same pattern bowled the same 3 games went home and used Clean and Dull. The Clean and Dull towel was almost black where as the Simple Green towel did take off a noticable amount of oil, it was nothing neer the Clean and Dull. YOU WILL NEVER CONVINCE ME THAT SIMPLE GREEN WORKS BETTER THAN CLEAN AND DULL. Sorry not dissin the product, but the proof was on the towel.

Because you're right -- Simple Green doesn't measure up. Anyone who does an honest comparison test will come to the same conclusion.

I work with degreasers alot at my job and i will tell you this much.Most of the heavy duty cleaners/degreasers like the purple type etc cleaners are very much the same thing.There is very little difference between them.As i have seen a lot of them are made by same company and then rebottled and sold by othe companys

i am cheap,,, i am using 10% clean and Dull mixed by 90% alcahol for spray.
