I need a good ball polish
« on: April 03, 2005, 04:04:25 AM »
Does anyone know which company makes the best polish?  By best I mean which one will give me the most length.  I applied Storm Xtra Shine on my ball by hand, but I did not notice any change in length.

May want to try to apply with a spinner. The only polish that is still on the market the I have tried is the Neo Tek stuff. Works well for me.

Ebonite Extender polish is good, Track Reaction Plus is also good I like Storm Moon Shine. It's a particle cleaner and polish but it added length to my Razor Wire. My Hybrid I use Ebonite Extender on it. But I also use a spinner .

Yes, Storm makes Diamond Gloss, it's a very high polish, I'd use something under it, it's more a 'finish' than a base polish.

it depends on YOU...what You want/expect. as I said, I use two different on two different balls, but then I have a full shop to choose from . I'd start off with the moonshine. If you didn't like the reaction,Track reaction plus  then Extender..just my 2 cents worth

Storm's Xtra Shine is as good as it gets, but, like all of them, to get good results you NEED to apply it with a  ball spinner. There's no getting around that problem. I know, as I used to try to do it by hand also. You're just not going to get anywhere near the same results, with TONS less work.

The Xtra Shine is good, it reall didn't do a lot for my Hybrid, but then it's a 'funny' cover, it is a lot of trial and error to find just the 'exact' reaction you are looking for, then they'll reoil ( or in my case) OIL the lanes and you're back to square one.

If the "hybrid" is the Hot Rod Hybrid, not the Dirty Bomb hybid, it is already at 1500 grit polished. To make the finish finer (higher grit), you should really sand it first to 2000 grit or wherever you want to go, and then re-polish it. Otherwise, you need to use more polish and pressure to burn in a higher gloss. Xtra Shine is supposedly able to get the polish/gloss up to 3500 grit, but it is much easier to get there if you sand it finer first.

Ebonite factory finish then to get more length use ebonite extender polish if needed, both come in small bottles for 6.95 each. I also have neotac control-it very good also and it gives a different look than ebonite products, i have moon shine but never used used it so far.

If no spinner i would offer you proshop guy say 10 bucks for 3 balls with no receipt most of the time they will take it. It will save you alot of money unless you are a nut like me with over 150 balls.
