UFO Extender on spare ball?

On a spare ball Turtle Wax will do. I tried the UFO and the reaction was identical to the TW.

It does contain a slip agent, but it doesn't clog pores and removes easy. If your bowling on a stripped lane then UFO could be helpful on a spare ball.


Cambumbo - I don't recommend turtle wax on anything reactive.

Since NONE of its "cousins" with slip agents, Neo-tac's Control-It and Track's Delayed Reaction are approved for use DURING competition, I assume UFO is not also.

Both Control-It and Delayed Reaction are approved for use BEFORE or AFTER compettion, BUT NOT during competition.

I don't know if UFO has been submitted for approval.

I don't see it, or any other Valentino polish/cleaner except Remedy RX on any of the approved lists.  The introduction to the USBC approved list clearly states that if a product is not on the approved lists you must assume it is not approved.  I hope Kevin will address this issue, I sent him a PM about it a few days ago but haven't heard back from him.  I would like to purchase some of the products, but will not use a product that is not USBC approved in my shop.  --  JohnP--

Kevin, I'd never use Turtle Wax on anything other than my car or a plastic bowling ball.

Currently Remedy RX is our only product acceptable for use during competition. Snake Oil will be sent off for approval in August before the new season starts.

UFO and Resurrection will never be granted an "acceptable during", UFO contains a slip agent, and Resurrection contains an abrasive. While those products aren't acceptable for use during competition, you can use all of our products before and after competition.

Starting in August we will be phasing in the new labels that say "For use during and after USBC competition"

As for the players using the Resurrection, I would remind them it has an abrasive in the product and can be used before and after competition. I completely agree with USBC on the surface changes rule and will always enforce that rule.

I would normally say something but this guy was on his 5th or 6th Coors Lite and out of contention for the pot so I figured it was best to let it go. Commonsense dictates the if it changes the surface, its not allowed.

I'd also let it pass if he was on his 6th beer. I am not sure if Resurrection will help an intoxicated bowler combat heavy oil, lol, I think we need to do some more tests here at the office.

We were bowling on the Shark but maybe he should have put the resurrection on his spare ball to help him make a bunch of 6/10s and 10 tens he missed to the right.

All kidding aside, I highly recommend Valentino on anything PK18 or Activator related, especially this year after, IMO, the drier heads present on most patterns.
I have nothing to do with them and get nothing for saying this. I use mostly MoRich equipment and UFO and Snake Oil tame this equipment to the point where is usable in more conditions. Its a drag to have equipment in the bag that is too strong to use and stays in the bag, or worse yet, in the basement.

Kevin -- I've looked at the list again (link below), and I can't agree with what you're saying.  Here's a direct quote from the introduction to the lists:

"Here is a list of approved and not approved ball cleaners and polishes. For a product to be approved at anytime, the product must not soften the ball surface or leave a residue. If a product is not found on the list below, consider it to be NOT APPROVED either before, after, or during certified competition."
