Valentino Remedy RX cleaner
« on: September 06, 2008, 02:56:02 PM »
I've tried it twice now. Unfortunately the lanes I've bowled on the last 2 times were especially dirty. There were some smudges that it removed quite well.

OK, here's the shocking part: it left the ball surface more tacky than any cleaner I have used including Clean and Dull. If I were strong enough, I could have palmed the ball, like a basketball. As it was, I almost did it with two hand, just by the friction created by my palms placed on the side of the ball.

I asked two friends to feel the bowling ball (get your mind out of the gutter ) and they looked at me strangely, UNTIL they felt the ball's surface. They were also very surprised.

Kevin Valentino did urge me to spray the towel and wipe the ball during bowling but I don't usually do that. I also wipe my hands on the towel. Maybe I'll use a 2nd towel. FYI it's legal for use during competition.

Good work, ... err, make that Great Product, again, Kevin, and thanks.

Charlest, I have done this twice now and it keeps the ball tacky and when I get done and clean the ball, I don't get much off the ball due to the fact I wiped it with a towel sprayed with Remedy before each shot, but my towel sure gets black though.

I agree with what you have said about the tackiness of the ball after cleaning it.

I haven't had any smudges to clean of my ball yet.

I did warn you that it's a "Prescription strength bowling ball cleaner." Remedy restores the tack of out of box, and then some. It's becoming my favorite product we make, because of how good it works.

me personally, I was taught by Rolf Gauger to always wipe down the ball after each frame. It makes for a more consistent reaction and bowling is all about consistency. As for my hands, I only apply cleaner to one side, so the other side of the towel is free for wiping my hands. I also like to use a rosin puff.

I have also used Remedy RX twice and will agree that it definitely leaves the ball tacky and removes belt marks easily.  I agree with charlest Great Product Kevin.

I told Jeff, if my hand was huge I could palm one of the balls he cleaned with Remedy, that's how tacky it was.

I am ordering a triple threat package right now, forgot to do it, could have used it yesterday.

I wonder if the Remedy can remove gum from coverstocks.

I ordered two of the $3 sample packs and an 8oz bottle of Remedy this morning.  I still have plenty of the Legends polish so I didn't want to spring for the Triple Threat package.  I do want to try out the Resurrection resurfacer for a buddy of mine.  Can't wait to try 'em out.

gum? The old wifes tale is that peanut butter takes gum out of hair, due to the oil. I'm not too sure, but if you have success, we'll have a new market.  lol

I almost got my fingers broke today using this product on a spinner, it smells a lot like the legends cleaner but the tackiness is increased ten fold. I was spinning the ball and the soft cloth grabbed the ball my hand flew into the tub the spinner sits in finger first.

It was very painful to say the least, we will see if this good or if the tackiness just picks up more dirt.

It does clean well better than legends??? Not really but it does add a lot of tackiness as I found out so we will see.

Thanks to Kevin for comping me this product when I ordered a pack of the Resurrection and Snake Oil. All are superb products with the resurrection already being a quick favorite to use for getting a sheen fast.

i'm sorry to hear about your fingers bowlingnut. I really recommend microfiber towels both on the lanes and on spinners. They have better cleaning power and less grab, to prevent accidents.

Remedy has a mild odor and the smell does not linger around like a few cleaners. We actually add an industrial "chemical-ly" fragrance because the product is harmful if ingested. Just follow the warnings to keep away from children. Remedy has no ammonia, carcinogens or toxic ingredients.

I got my bottle of Remedy in the mail yesterday and sprayed some on a couple of balls.  I cleaned my Dimension that I used a couple nights before but hadn't had a chance to use Clean & Dull on yet, and it definately made the ball tacky!  There weren't any belt marks or anything to remove, so I have no idea how it handles.  My dad drilled up a Rotogrip Pluto the day before and hadn't thrown it at all yet, so I wanted to see what it'd do to a brand-new coverstock.  It definately made the ball a lot tackier than out-of-the-box!  I'm interested to see how it handles truly dirty bowling balls and what it does for my ball reaction.

I stopped using the Legends cleaner on my spinner for exactly that reason.  I haven't gotten my fingers jammed yet but I've lost my grip on more than my fair share of towels and rags because of that.

It's happened a few times on our jayhawk but only on high speed, on low speed and on our vertex, it isn't a problem.
