Valentino: Resurrection & Snake Oil...
« on: June 09, 2008, 03:35:54 PM »
Below is a picture of the ball undrilled OOB...

Out of Box

I used a well-worn 4000 grit Abralon pad to apply "Resurrection" to resurface the ball after 50 games....

Resurrection Cover Prep

Picture of ball after "Snake Oil" application...

Snake Oil

Products are easy to apply
"Resurrection" pulled a lot of dirt and oil out of the cover.
The "Snake Oil", applies easily. (I normally use Beans Special Sauce).
I find that Beans Special Sauce gives a glossier shine, wit h less effort.

Resurrection and Snake Oil are both excellent products.

Steve,

As Lane said, the spinner gives you all the options. You get more, more easily: more shine, more pressure, more area covered, more spread of the liquid over a larger area, Oh, and more heat to "fix" the shine, - all by a factor of, let's say, 25 - 100. That's a very large factor!

Like most polishes, the greater the shine, the greater the length. Means a lot with polishes, like Snake oil and Lanemasters Factory Finish polish. Means less with polishes, such as Beans Secret Sauce, Brunswick's High Gloss polish, and Neo-tac's Renew-it.

First....I highly recommend getting a spinner. For polishing it gives you a uniform finish and helps generate the speed needed to really "burn" the polish in.

It's true that a higher shine gives you more length. Is Snake Oil the shinest? No, but our products are made for todays conditions (house, sport and PBA.) The length and backend grab of Snake Oil is the perfect combination for polished and pearl equipment. Our testing on Cheetah made me fall in love all over again with my Vendetta and Ebonite Tornado. As long as I didn't miss my target by 2 or more boards, I was able to hit my breakpoint marker and have the ball turn into the pocket. The 5000 grit polish we tested on the same balls gave a mixed reaction and the balls were too speed sensitive. Any miss to the left (I'm lefty...right for Tom & Susan) and I hit a huge zone of no return and the ball would leave awful washouts. I really do stand behind our products and I absolutely love using it because the reaction on the lanes as well as the reactions from the other bowlers.

There have been many polishes that polish in excess of 5000 grit, and many of those polishes have been discontinued because...... 1. That is just too much skid and you hit the zone of no return 2. It clogs pores and actually puts a waxy oily shell on the ball (which is what creates the skid, and it wears off quick) Here is my philosophy on super shiny balls....If you really need a ball to skid that much you should switch to a less aggressive ball. Because after one game, you then have to deal with transitioning oil (4 to 6 feet past the pattern length)

Also, Noodle if you order more product, make sure to devote a towel only for Snake Oil. The polishing beads as well as the cream base stay inside the towel, so when you go to re-polish a ball just use less product and a little more water. We can usually get 75+ uses out of an 8oz. bottle

I totally disagree with that statement. I have used just about every cream based polish released in the last 12 years including Snake Oil and and they all worked basically the same way. The Snake Oil smells a little better but still gave me the same reactions that the other cream based products did with much less durability.

Black Magic
Snake Oil
Powerhouse Extender
Storm Reacta Shine
Track Magic
The Wax Shop's Squeaky Products
Finesse It 1 and 2
and several more products.....

All these products use a petroleum or wax based cream or something similar to create a lubrication effect on the ball. That prolongs the amount of time it takes to create the correct "heat" to the ball alowing the chemicals to absorb into the coverstock. Also, most cream based polishes do leave a residue on the ball and in the pores of the ball.

With The Secret Sauce you get the highest lustre of any polish made but you do not get the squirt down lane that you do with other polishes.

My polish was tested by Joey Cerar Jr. of the Bowler's Journal and it was measured that the Secret Sauce created more angle down lane than any other polish he tested. This was supposed to be published in an article in the BJ but it was not released by the higher ups at the BJ. Feel free to email him for proof.

I bowled on Cheetah in an actual PBA Regional in NM the beginning of March and was +250 for 8 games. I used my Buzzbomb that was polished over 1000 grit with the Secret Sauce and it had well over 100 games on it and was still shiny and still read the backend of the lane extremely hard. Now if what Valentino's is saying is correct. My polish outshines every single polish on the market which would make it the highest grit. Well over 5000 grit actually. Why does my polish create the most backend angle compared to every other polish tested by Joey Cerar Jr??

There are numerous PBA players that use the Secret Sauce because it does create that backend reaction..

Matt O'Grady Team USA is a believer
Rick Graham  Former Team USA PBA member is a believer
Rudy Kasimakis is a believer
Danny Wiseman PBA Exempt Player is a believer
Mike Miller PBA TofC Champion is a believer
100's of Pro Shops across the world are believers and
A PBA Nationally televised 300 Game by Ron Winger as well as the other 4 finalists on that show...

There are also dozens of staff members with major companies that I can't mention by name that use my polish over their own staff companies products.

That is proof that basically ALL cream based polishes are on the same playing field and the Secret Sauce is in a league all of it's own. This will be shown with solid proof in the videos that will be released in the coming months. If you are interested in possibly being a tester than message me with your credentials. You do not have to be a great bowler but you must have ball prep experience and a spinner as well as video capabilities with editing software. All testing products will be supplied to you as well.

That's one powerful statement Beans.  I unfortunately lack a spinner.

I tried my Pyro with hand applied Snake Oil last night in my PBAx league on the Cheetah.  It plowed the 3 pin a lot.  I had to go to my Gravity Shift which is still OOB.  Not a bad backend, just not a good one either.  My T-Road Pearl that's 2000 polished with Ebonite Factory Finish had a monstrous backend.  Way too uncontrollable had to put it away.  Not one good look all night

I can't wait to get my spinner so I can use polish the "real" way!

My statement was truth to the bone! The 5000 grit product I was referring to was Diamond Gloss, and everything I said regarding the reactions of that polish is true. I don't see why you had to come and post an AD for the secret sauce. I don't see why you bash our product on the forum, yet want to sell both Snake Oil and Resurrection in your our proshop and website?

As I have said before, DON'T LISTEN TO THE COMPETITION. Try it out for yourself.

Our polish is the BEST.....Best Product, Best Results, Best results on the lane, Best Price, Best bang for your buck.

I have never once bashed your products. Not one time. Why is it OK for you to tell people your products are the best but I can not??? I tried to add a different product to my website which was your Resurrection and Snake Oil and you declined which was not a problem. I tried to help a new company as I know how hard it is. Not becuase your products are better but because they are different. There are going to be people that do not like your products and will post about them. You have to learn to take criticism well and it is hard. I know.. It took me a while. Don't read into every post I make as I am bashing your product because I am not.

I have a love hate relationship with Beans sometimes we have went at with each in the past but I have bought different balls and secret sauce. He is a good guy that sometimes like me comes off as a hard azz, I am going to try your polish as well but you have to take the heat there Kevin.

It is the net so to me not real and who cares who does not like you, why would you refuse to sell your product in his shop that just sound like stupid business to me.

Mrbowlingnut,

He would sell it to me for the shop but refused to sell it to me for my website..

I understood as he gave me an explanation as well. Not just a "NO". I do not dislike the Valentino boys but I think we both sometimes read each others posts and immediately think that we are degrading each others products. Competition is good in business. So is passion for your products.. It keeps you on your toes.

Probably 4 years ago over some Lane 1 ball, sometimes you annoy me with how much you defend Lane 1 you cannot love every ball that much. It is not a personal thing just sometimes you take it over the top with your pride of Lane 1 and your sauce.

Lately I have not loved the new Lane 1 balls but it I might be in the minority versus majority, the 900 global covers seem to be on the weaker side for me at least.

The Buzzbomb oob was great then changed it and boom it just lays off now instead of driving through the Lane like it once did.

OH!!  LOL!!

I actually do post about what Lane#1 balls do not match up well with me. There has been a few....XP and the Tsunami. Black Cherry Bomb and the Golden Nugget.

I have had great luck with the newer stuff but I am heavy handed a bit.

As far as the Sauce goes.  It's like my baby so I do get a little out of control when it comes to that..

I guess I can be annoying here and there but come on... That's why you love me too...
