14lb or 15lb?
« on: July 24, 2005, 06:42:27 AM »
Hi i've been bowling for about 4-5 months, and after a month or two of bowling 14lb, i moved up to 15lb ball.

i am 5'7 and weigh about 143 lbs.  I dont think i can do all the thigns im trying to do with the 15 lb ball, but i'm afraid of losing pin carry if i move down in weight.

so heres are my questions...

should i move back down to 14lbs? or should i keep training my wrist with the 15lb?

how big a difference is it between 15 and 14lb balls?

I moved down to 14 from 15 and I lost no carry. There was a thread a while back that I posted about this.

BTW, this should be under Miscellaneous, you will get more traffic there also.

Does you have your 14# left or did u sell it/them? If you still have it you can use the 14# and some times take out the 15# so you train your wrist and technic in the same time. Or if you stay with 14 for a while and train your wrist when your not bowling.
A good training method is to have a stick, a weight (about 10#+), and some string/cord. Then you tie the string to the weight and wind up it on the stick with both hands. Hold your arms right out with your tumbs facing against each other.
It´s very good training for the wrist.
Excuse for the lame explanation
