The last time I saw a ball with that much top weight it was my friend's Blue Aftershock.  As long as you don't shift the CG too far off of the midplane you should be o.k.  If you shift it too much you will be looking at a good sized weight hole and probably inside of your VAL.

Lay it out and weight it before you put any holes into it.

I concur with jabroni ...  BTW, I got a NIB FreakAZoid a few months back in a trade; it had 4 3/4 oz top weight and it's a monster !!! My driller, Jeff Massey of Harley's Simi Bowl in Simi Valley, CA did a great layout and a great job.

Thanks all.I didnt want to go to deep on the fingers or to deep on the weight hole cause of the weight block. Its a big one.

I think the overseas balls are ball there were gonna make for the us but then they all are pretty much blems with weird top weight or long pins. I havnt seen one of these balls that dont look like a blem.
It all depends on the seller and how they got the ball.  I bought an X-Factor Pro and the specs were perfect!  I agree that a large percentage do seem to be blems or pro-pins, but there are good ones out there.

Before laying it out, I would confirm the cg location and amount of top weight.  The manufacturers do make mistakes.  --  JohnP
