Bridge cracked
« on: August 30, 2023, 01:28:15 PM »
So I have two balls one is a 900 global covert ops (it's 2  years old). Then I have a hammer bad intentions  (8 years old). They both recently cracked at the bridge. My questions are
1) how does this happen? I don't leave them in the car or cold/hot weather. They sit in the house. AND THEY BOTH CRACKED THE SAME WAY IN THE SAME SPOT. Two different pro shops
2) can they be fixed?
3) can I continue to bowl with them if they are not fixed.

I tried to put pictures up. But it's one crack maybe 2 to 3 cm wide going from finger to finger

I would put some super glue where the crack is. Hopefully will keep it from cracking more until you can get to a pro shop to have it repaired. I store my equipment in the bags they come in and this seems to cut down on the cracking. Good Luck!

I always recommend 3/8” between the fingers to all of the youth and beginner bowlers.

I also recommend using the super glue at least 1/2” deep on grips.

Very rarely see cracks.

If you have any, the best thing to use is a two part epoxy like Araldite here in the UK.

It even takes colour well when using acrylic style paints (only need a tiny amount to colour)

I’ve used it for years for many repairs especially like the one you mentioned. You just mix it and run it into the crack with a toothpick, then carefully sand the excess when dry.

There’s many previous posts on here of how popular it is for repairs.
