Changes to span and pitches
« on: March 14, 2007, 07:34:47 AM »
At the beginning of league this past year I purchased two new balls. These balls were the first new ones that I have had in 4+ years(I had been only bowling once a month, now I bowl once a week. The proshop wanted to lengthen my span, so I let them. Back then I also had no idea of what my PAP was. Today, I took a Absolute Inferno, that I bought from someone here to be drilled at a different shop. This shop told me that not only was my span too long, but I had too much reverse pitch in my thumb and not enough side pitch in my fingers. He determined my PAP to be 5-3/8" over and 5/8" up. He also told me that my tilt was 7 degrees. Is there a reason that my tilt is so little? He said it should be about 12-15 degrees. Is my release causing this?

Thanks for any info.
