Flip Axis Drilling
« on: January 19, 2005, 05:45:07 AM »
Being a youth, I dont really know everything about drilling, but I do know some things. I can say that the way my driller is drilling his Bully is outrageous.  He told me he learned it from Mo Pinel at a seminar back in 1995, and unless you went to this seminar, you don't know this drilling.  It is called Flip Axis drilling and the reaction he described sounded quite interesting.  It was originally designed for the Dick Weber Legacy.  He said it rolled on its axis and when it got right on top of the pocket, just as it is about to hit and leave a bucket, it flipped and slaughtered the pins.  The Bully has 5" pin.

x = pin
h = balance hole
p = PAP
c = cg

5" pin, low top weight, the distance from the ring finger to the pin is about 3-4" and the cg/pap/balance hole are all on top of each other.
