Amish, why is important to have a long pin and not to have a balance hole?  I have a Neptune with a 1 inch pin to pap and lots of shine and it is the only ball I can get to the pocket with at a center with a shorter pattern.

i have not done a pin axis but have done semi pin axis which puts the cg on my pap with pin on my val directly above, although I ahve better results tweeking it such that pin is directly above the pap, cg 1/2" left of pap, resulting in mb just right of thumb (lane #1 tsunami) in a polished state ths ball is great for shorter patterns, in a little rougher surfacei can throw ti on anything, very predictible smooth roll on the ball, no sudden moves, no jerks from the dry.  my go to ball to figure the shot

I have drilled some pin on axis, the reaxtion shape is very early and set.  Typically this is used for very dry conditions, usually when you need to play straighter.  That being said, the early hook is generally virtually non-existant because the ball does not hook very much.  Basically it plays straighter than most pin up layouts.
