Thumb Issue, need advice
« on: March 09, 2008, 03:19:19 AM »
Hey guys, so I have been going through the same problem all this season and it needs to stop! I bowled a 6 game tourney yesturday and at the end coudn't even hold on to the ball. The problem is my thumb rubs like mad on the inner (index finger side) of the knuckle, and it gets blistered up bad, and fast. Currectly my pitches are 1/4 reverse and 1/8 left, they obviously need to be changed (thinking some forward pitch) and a good friend of mine also noted that I may want to see if I can get the thumb moved more offset to try and take pressure off that side of my thumb at release. This blistering has always haunted me but NEVER this bad and it needs to STOP before I go to state/pepsi/nationals. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks --

bighook, even though you bought a new ball, I'd still get your Shock & Awe thumb plugged & re-drilled.  Then you could still use that ball.  just my .o2.

Oh of course!!! I love that ball with all my heart, has over 200 games on it and is my pride and joy, the day it retires is the day I do . I only got the new ball so that I could get the kinks worked out without having to plug the s&a untill I knew I had everything right... and cause i had some money i was doing nothing with....
