whats the difference?
« on: October 19, 2007, 02:32:01 AM »
Would anyone share thoughts on the difference between the expexted reaction between these two layouts?

1) Mystic,Symmetrical, pin one inch from axis, cg near grip center

2) Machine Asymmetric, pin 6-6.5 from axis in middle finger, mass bias 45 degrees

They both should be low flare, early roll, and smooth breakpoint according to what I've read.  Thanks

Unless I''m wrong, the Mystic will be more even-arcing and smooth. The Machine will go longer and arc a little harder on the backend because of the extreme pin to PAP and mass bias placing.

I would think the 6-6.5" pin-to-PAP would be considerably longer than the 1" pin-to-PAP.  Hard to say since the two balls are so different to begin with.  But if you did that with similar balls, that's what I'd expect.  Yes, both are low-flare layouts, but putting the pin closer to axis usually means early roll while farther from axis is more length.
