X-Hole Distance
« on: November 11, 2006, 12:37:04 PM »
With the information in my profile, would anyone tell me the farthest distance I could put an X-Hole past my PAP and not flare over it?????????????

I've heard that anything short of 2" past is OK, is that true?????

Take the ball you need to put the balance hole in to the lanes.  Mark the proposed spot for the hole with about 6 pieces of tape one on top of the other.  Throw the ball, if it doesn't hit the tape it probably won't hit the balance hole.  I say probably because the hole itself can affect the amount of flare, so if you're pushing the limit and the flare increases it may hit.  --  JohnP

Rev rate is 400+- and the ball I'm looking at is the total inferno. The rest of my specs are in my profile

With your specs there is no safe zone. You need to test as JohnP said but be aware flare is likely to increase if you go past your axis.

I have an Infinite One that flares back almost to my grip on the right side

If you don't want to do with JohnP's method(flare varies by ball, rev rate you are using that day..and pin position).

Try this.  Put the weighthole exactly 6.1375 inches from your grip center.

If it flares over it...buy a new ball and put closer to grip.
