Well, it is like this... of the following which would you prefer to tame a ball's reaction:
1.X-hole 2 inches left of pap, close to your center of span (flare decreasing hole)
2.x-hole 2 inches up VAL
I saw brunsnick video and it seems to my non trained eye option 2 is tamer than 1 but maybe I'm wrong. Any more opinions about this? I want to stand right as much as possible with my Absolute Inferno pin above fingers CG below ring finger. Thanks in advance for comments.

I would say from the video that #2 was weaker and the non-existant flare rings shown in the video would confirm this..
I don't know why though.. cause if flare is determined by RG differential I would think closer to the pin would be less flare. Drilling right into the top of the pin will lower the high RG of the core the most thus lowering the overall differential and thus lowering flare.

The placement on the other side of the PAP might have something to do with MB and asymmetry... kind of like putting the MB/PSA spot past your track which puts the other MB/PSA (on the other side of the ball) in a similar spot to the #2 weighthole..
when I have seen this done it really kills the reaction.. I heard that the ball will sometimes flare backwards..

A weight hole is like a PSA spot.. at the spot of the weight hole it makes that spot a high RG axis..

the gradient line technique works in most cases but I don't think it is the end all be all holy grail of x-hole information...

some of the reaction differences are due to the distance of the hole to the Pin .. but the technique doesn't mention that or take that into account for any drillings..

i've had good success with 1-2" above the pap on val.

The last time I tried option #1 it turned an overly aggressive ball into a hook set reaction ball. Although this was kind of what I was looking for, carry was only good on down and in shots - not really a surprise given the shape of the reaction. I was hoping for milder continuous roll where I could play inside the oil a little more - LOL
