x-holes on the mid line.
« on: July 13, 2006, 07:10:13 AM »
I have heard about x-holes drilled above the mid line on the pap.  I also have heard about x-holes drilled below the mid line in the thumb positive quadrent.  What about x-holes on the mid line?  What kind of reaction do you get from that?

Now i'm talking about an x-hole 6" over and on the mid line.  Now this shouldn't effect the finger or thumb weight very much if at all but what kind of reaction difference is there between the other 2 locations?

All you're doing is taking out side weight then. Depending on the side it could with help the ball set earlier or go a touch longer, but not too much either way. If you stay on the midline and move towrds your center of grip, you decrease flare.

You're welcome, chitown. The other thing I recall about this is if you're a "high tracker" and you drill the midline x-hole past your PAP you can track over the thumb and/or fingers.

Depends on where the PAP is located.  Some people have their's on the midline, some above, some below.  If its close to the PAP, its gonna reduce flare a little.  If the hole is couple inches lower, it will increase flare.  Same with distance from the center of grip.  6 inches away will increase flare if the PAP is closer to the grip.
