I am experimenting with a modified easter grip.  Middle finger is normal length.  Ring finger is shorter than normal by about 3/16. This places the grip at the begining of the head of the middle joint.  This causes more of the ball to be in my hand, and it seems to help equalize the tension between the fingers.  I have not noticed a decrease in rev rate, not that I have a high reving release at this point in my learning.  Accuracy with ring finger aiming has improved.  Have tried two different thumb drills.  The first with no lateral right or left- caused a rub on the side next to fingers.  The second with under palm does not seem to be affected as much.
