DV8 New releases
« on: July 21, 2012, 08:13:39 AM »
Just a quick reminder the newest releases come out next week.  A little mini review for both balls.

Hell Raiser Terror:
This ball is long and strong,  I drilled mine with my favorite asymmetric layout pin over ring, mass kicked right.  The ball went forever long and very quick response of the dry.  I personally haven't had a ball that I can remember do this.

Marauder:
I have been waiting for this "Benchmark" reaction due to the fact that I wasn't a big fan of the Reckless or my pin down Too Reckless.  I drilled this one with the pin next to my ring finger stacked.  Testing the ball before adding the xtra hole, the ball rolled smooth and consistent which is exactly what I was looking for.  Ended up putting a small hole on my axis.

Comparing the 2 balls, my Marauder is early and smoother then the Terror while the terror is the exact opposite being skid flippy.

I really think for the price line you cant go wrong with Marauder!  Trying not to be a "Biased" review for you guys.  Any questions feel free to ask.

I have to agree with the OP on the Terror.  The Terror, for me, is a type of ball that I absolutely love!  I have used it at 3 different houses, with 3 different THS (in volume and length).  So far, as long as there is head oil, the Terror has allowed me to wiggle a little right and throw it with a more up the back release (the ball is still continuous even with a little less axis rotation).  As the oil transitioned, it was very easy to transition with it and move in.  While moving in, changing my hand position allowed for the Terror to get down the lane and still turn the corner hard with energy.  The motion was outstanding, and it resulted in multiple people asking what I had been throwing.  The carry has been really solid.  I have left, 3 ten pins in 12 games.  While I would like to take the credit, I have to say that this ball does an outsanding job of sending the pins sideways and keeping them low.  This is usually something that I look for out of a ball.
I have also not been able to put this away.  Every time I think that I should, it has allowed me to make a couple of small moves, or hand position changes, and the carry has continued.  So far, I have found this to be an outstanding addition to the DV8 line.  I will write a full review, after I have a chance to throw it a little more, including some sport shots.
Thanks for reading
