Is this going to be a heavier oil ball? I'd like this to be my first Dyno-Thane.. i've always wanted to try the Soaker coverstock!

pearls ganerally are not as strong in oil as a solid, I'm going to say it would finish stronger on the backend than the Threshold but not necessairly cover more total boards. A good compliment to the Threshold, as in when the Threshold is too much ball. JMO

So is this ball a solid, pearl or a blend (like the Thing, AU79)?  I have one reserved, but I just want to know what i'm getting.

Meat having both the Au79 being a great ball in its time, but with the stronger resins and additives of today the NGS is stronger.

with the same drilling the NGS is more angular, crosses carry down better due to the added particle enhancement.
