Ok, which one of you suckers took my Anomaly?
« on: January 08, 2004, 12:01:24 AM »
Yesterday I walked into Mike Austin's proshop and yanked the Anomaly he had on the wall.  15.4 lbs and about 3" pin.  I drew a line on it with a wax pencil so the pin would be right over my fingers juuust right of center (about a 3/8" left of my first Anomaly that hooks too much) and CG about a half inch positive from my centerline.

For lunch I drive back to the center and start practicing while I waited for the shop to open.  Mike shows up and I walk on in... I don't get a word in before he says, "I sold your Anomaly."

"Hu-huh?"

"Some guy came in here and said he'd been reading about it on the Internet and HAD to have it today.  He liked your layout by the way. Oh and Burnett's Bowling Supply is out of 15's."

My eye starts to twitch.

I considered stabbing him with one of his bevel knives he has laying around, but he's the only one good enough to drill my equipment so I let him live.

So which one of you's bought it?  Fess up!

Smurf and I are pretty good friends.  Yes, we were practicing on the same pair today like usual.  He and I travel together to regioanls and other tourneys, this weekend is an event in Louisianna he's trying to get me to go to.  We'll see.  That was one of the reasons I wanted that Anomaly drilled up.  My strength is not completely recovered, still fighting tendonitis, so I have to rely on the equipment to open the lanes a little.

sorry to hear about that Tony.  Was looking forward to getting ahold of a used one myself.  If you keep buying them, you're bound to wanna let one go.  Better luck with another one.  Anyone finds one let me know or Tony know.

hehe, I don't know about that.  That first Anomaly that hooks a bunch is a really nice ball.  The second one I have with the 6" pin from my PAP is a dart, but works great on short oil.  My third one is on it's way to my house as we speak, which is why Mike Austin sold the one he had... he knew I had one coming.  The funny thing is, I'm already thinking of how to drill up a FOURTH one!

There are many great balls out there.  But the Anomaly is exceptional.  It's going to be difficult for Cardinale to balance the Thing series and the soon-to-be Anomaly series.  What could be next?  The Anomaly Returns?
