Sniper not working for me :(
« on: March 08, 2006, 01:16:31 AM »
But I do like the hit, and feel like it's a quality ball.  I just recently realized that I'm a speed dominant player, and I benefit much more from lower RG cores.  I'm too often throwing the Sniper past the proper breakpoint, and not really getting it into a good roll.  I don't blame the ball, I blame the operator!

But anyway, maybe I could get a recommendation for a low RG DT piece to replace the Sniper?  I have a trade post up now, and am open to suggestions!

I'm intrigued....

Yeah. You know, I had a guy in Jackson county. He had a little drum circle in his backyard. It turned into a drum circle four miles in diameter. You get a few hippies playing drums and next thing you know, you got yourself a colony.

Whoa...that makes me wish I had held off on the sniper!  I thought all the Vendettas had the same core and RG rating?  Down to 2.46??

Ok, I used the Sniper this weekend in a tourney, and had much better success with it there.  It could just be my routine struggles with the THS.  I just flat out bowl better in tournament conditions, no matter if it's a heavy pattern, flat pattern, short pattern, or totally toasted.  For whatever reason, I normally bowl much better than in my league with the typical house block.  I guess I just need to learn how to take advantage of that block, because right now I'm not!

Anyhow, the Sniper worked great for me playing deep on the short, dry pattern I played on this weekend.  I normally have quite a difficult time playing deep, but I took my speed down some, stood at 30 and threw at 15 (trust me, that's deep for me) and the ball held and made a nice little move at the deck.  It was a tough pattern, and I had the high series in my squad.  (624)  I'll try it again this week in leagues and see if I can figure out a good way to play this ball on a house shot.
