vendetta maxx not moving at all!
« on: January 15, 2007, 01:33:50 PM »
hi D/T guys, i have a question about the vendetta maxx. i have it drilled with pin below the bridge and cg at 1 inch around 2 oclock of the thumb, no xhole. with its OOB surface the ball doesnt even more, slow it down a lot to make it move. I was on TSH where my dirty bomb and mighty zone II was hitting the 2 and 4 pin and my VM barely hit the headpin.

after getting used to it, i could play it down and in slowly with a very good mix of pins, the thing is, i really thought it was going to be a very strong arcing ball when it hits the dry... instead of being very tamed and smooth arc with continuous roll.

should i put some polish or some sandpaper on the ball?

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one

well, thats what i thought but the problem is, on fresh THS, i played outside (pretty dry) and it moved couple of boards, move inside, playing from 20 to 10, with more axis and slower speed and the ball still didnt make the corner.

gonna try some polish to help it retain the energy little bit longer

That ball was very rolly and pretty weaker overall i needed medium-dry for it too work. Just letting you know i think it is not burning up but alot weaker than they advertised it too be. Of course just my opinion again

I've never had any real luck with playing inside lines with particle equipment.. because they want to hook as soon as they are on the lane (generally early and arcy type of reactions), for me, they never seem to have enough left over to finish on the backend consistently...I've always had my best luck playing straighter lines when sufficient head oil was present.

Instead of immediately adding polish, I would bring it up to 2000.  @ 600 the MAXX starts burning up the second it hits the lane.  It never was a big mover, but it was meant to handle a lot of oil.  @ 2000 the ball was more versatile.
