Layout:
5 x 5  PIN over ring finger. No extra hole.

Box Specs:
15lb 3oz 4"-5" 3.25oz

Review:
The Adrenaline Shot is a nice piece that fits in-between the Code of Honor and the GB2. With this layout, the ball provides decent length with a hard arc to the pocket. The move to the pocket is strong due to the 500/2000 abralon surface. I see myself trying a shorter PIN to CG, pin under layout, to get a nice early read. I see better carry on the fresh medium volume THS when control is needed. The ball is not a good choice for when the heads get a bit choppy. At that point a pearl would be the better option; possibly the GB2 Gold or a Cyclone. The patterns I've also had success with this ball are the shorter patterns such as the Kegel Code: 35' , PBA Regional Cheetah: 35', and QubicaAmf German Open 2014: 36'

 COMMENTS
The new Adrenaline Shot continues with the Adrenaline core (one of my favorites) and a new hybrid cover – the GB 12.0. My hope for this ball was a ball motion that was cleaner in the front than the Salute and more angle at the back on medium to higher volumes.  It is exactly that:  cleaner in the front and more at the back.  It is a perfect choice on fresh, medium-higher volume patterns.  It reads the mids and still provides the needed entry angle. When the Salute is not enough at the back and the Code of Honor is too angular, the Shot is the ideal choice.  I have inserted this piece into my arsenal as a start ball on environments that are higher volume (medium to heavy), especially sport compliant patterns.  It provides controllability with plenty of angle to strike.  I think all styles of players can add the Adrenaline Shot as a start ball and then sequence based on the transition (once the skid phase shortens and the back to not enough, it’s time to sequence).

Likes:Does exactly as advertised. I was having an issue with my GB2 being a little angular on the fresh and my Paradox being a little too much. The Adrenaline Shot fit right in between for me, providing mid lane reaction without an L shape so the ball can face up and go through the pins correctly. I like the colors as the ball is easy to look at and read as it travels down the lane.

Dislikes: As I move left if I have to cover boards left to right  the ball gets a hair lazy because of my ball speed. However if the break point migtrates left when I move in and I can "fall it back" a little, the carry percentage actually increases a great deal.

With a few new balls in my bag, I’m just now getting comfortable with where each fits in for me as I compete in three leagues in three different centers and PBA regional events on the weekend.

I have not changed the 500/2000 Abralon box finish, and I was able to throw some good games during practice sessions on what I considered a heavier-oil house shot.

That success helped the decision to keep the Adrenaline Shot in my bag for recent tournaments, most notably on the PBA Regional Viper and PBA Regional Cheetah patterns.

On the Viper, I was able to use the Adrenaline Shot to play a little straighter and get the angle I desired at the breakpoint. I also was able to move right (I’m left-handed) and throw the ball to that spot or play a tighter inside line.

On Cheetah, there were times when I followed players throwing urethane, and I just couldn’t get my Burgundy Hammer (the new one) to come off the spot. I was able to change to the Adrenaline Shot and get the bounce I needed.

I like this ball when there’s a little more oil, but with the surface as it is, it hasn’t been as good for me when the lanes are a little drier or the front of the lanes has had some play.

There’s usually a place for everything, and I feel the Adrenaline Shot will be most useful for me when I want to play the lanes straighter and need some teeth in the front.

For the technical folks, my Adrenaline Shot is drilled 4 ½ x 5 x 3. No extra hole.

I was looking for a to be strong up front, and that’s what I got.  I had great success with this ball on the fresh Boardwalk pattern.  The ball did not over skid through the fronts and it read the break point nicely and had great hitting power.  When bowling with this ball on a house shot, the carry was not consistent if I got it to the friction too quickly.  However, when I kept it in the oil, the carry was much better.  I envision this ball to get quite a bit of use on fresh sport patterns where I have to keep the ball in front of me. Additionally, for bowlers with stronger releases, this could be a good ball to help smooth out those over/under reactions.

I laid this on out with pin under bridge and CG kicked out about 30 degrees. One word comes to mind when I throw this ball and that is SMOOTH! Play deep, outside, stay in the oil, or off the dry and this ball does not overreact or jump on me. It has a nice continuous arc through the pins and is a go to ball when over/under becomes a problem or the lanes get burnt up.

Had a chance to drill one of these up a few weeks ago. I had drilled a Salute with a 55x4.5x40 and copied the layout for the Adrenaline Shot. I was looking for a 1-2 punch out for a typical league pattern. I had found that the Salute was a touch too jumpy out of the pattern on the fresh, the Adrenaline Shot was the perfect answer. It made a wonderful transistin out of the oil and retained energy going through the pins.

If your looking for a symmetrical ball for a fresh oil pattern, this might be a great choice. You might have to make some surface adjustments if your gonna be in any kind of high voulme oil, but for the run of mill medium league pattern this ball is a great first ball out of the bag.

Likes:  Adrenaline Shot (Box surface) - drilled 55 x 4 x 65 my PAP (positive axis point) is 4 3/8 right 1/2 up (Pin under the ring finger and CG slightly swung to the right)
Pattern was Fresh USBC Blue pattern 42ft at an AMF (Bowlmor) bowling center
I am not sure if the Adrenaline Shot is smooth for anyone else that has rolled with it but I know for me it is one of the smoothest bowling balls I have rolled with.  I have noticed on the fresh patterns the best way for me to keep the roll true and the pins nice and low I have to make sure I am soft with my hand at the point of release.  I like that from the ball because it helps me stay true to the shot making and repeat ability.  I didn’t have to be perfect just good enough off the hand to see the ball roll and react instead of trying to make it turn over.  I have not had a lot of success trying to create a tight and or large angle with the Adrenaline shot yet, I will not say that is a dislike just that I have not been on the pattern were I can open it up yet.  I can see this ball being the first ball out the bag, and going up in reaction or down from the Adrenaline Shot shouldn’t be an issue and staying around the 1-3 or 1-2 pocket.
