The most amazing thing about the Stinger 2 Piece is it's price.  For a ball that reacts as well as many top-of-the-line balls, it's priced near the bottom of the scale.  Don't be fooled by the price though, I was also amazed by this ball's results.  I'm right handed, and I drilled mine with the pin over the bridge and the CG kicked out to the right of my midline.  This layout should produce plenty of length and a good break on the backend.  I tried out the ball at a house that didn't have much oil at the time, I had to play fifth arrow to somewhere around 10 at 40 feet.  Just as advertised, the ball sailed nicely through the first 30 feet and made a sharp turn for the 1-3.  With an angle like that, carry was no problem.  This will be a great ball on most house conditions or wherever there's medium volumes.  I am very impressed with this ball and I give it an 8 on a scale from 1 to 10.  It cannot be beat for the price!

Well, I drilled this ball up a couple of weeks ago, and haven't thrown it that much up until last night.



The layout on this ball was the pin above my fingers on the grip line and the CG swung out a 1/2" on the negative side.  I used this layout for extreme dry and to give me a lot of control.



I started the night with the X-Calibur Legend, and had a great shot, but going into the 3rd game, the lanes started to burn and I was getting too much reaction out of the X-Calibur.  I went to the Stinger 2-piece, and moved back to my original starting position for the night, and threw the front 5.  I was able to lay the ball down in the dry and still get the ball down the lane, with the controlled reaction that I was looking for when it made the move.

I didn't have to worry about the hard drive to the pocket with this layout.



On a scale of 1-10, I would give this ball a 6.  Why so low? Because with the way I drilled the ball, it will only be usable for extreme dry and spare shooting.  I think this would be a great dry lane ball with any drilling.  The strength of this ball is clearing the head, even when they dry up.  Weakness would be that it will be oil sensitive, and will need dry to get a reaction.

first i think that the shell on this ball is exremely versatile.
started with box finish which made the ball cover as many boards as you
want and hit like a truck, then touched it up with some ebonite quicksand(that made the surface a little smoother) at that point the ball got through the heads easily and read the midlane very predictably, but my hope for this ball was to use it as the lane started to burn up so back to the shop for a little of ebonite's factory finish polish. success, as the more aggressive balls start up a little too soon this ball got through the front and stored plenty of energy to throw the pins around a perfect choice to complete your arsenal.

Stinger 2 Piece solid by Ebonite is another good strong/versatile resin ball, but with an entry level price.  I have a Stinger 2 Piece with a 5x4 layout pin high with a hole in PAP. My positive axis point is 5 1/4 by 3/8 up. I have a Vortex 2 with same layout and in comparison the Stinger skids a bit cleaner through the front part of lane and doesn't roll quite as heavy in midlane as the Vortex 2.  The overall amount of hook is maybe 3 or 4 boards less with Stinger 2 Piece for myself. I found The Stinger 2 Piece to play better when the lanes are hooking a bit than on heavy oil for myself when compared to Ebonite's versatile benchmark Vortex 2. However with the much lower price the Stinger 2 Piece solid could be quite a bargain for some of those who would like to get stronger ball reaction for a relatively low price and the Stinger 2 Piece is as versatile a ball as one can drill for a low/mid price range.

I drilled the stinger 2 piece sanded, label with pin at 3 inches, and CG shifted 1/2 inch off center of grip. In the box condition the ball hooked too much going down the lane and didn't recover good enough when I opened the lane. This would because of the label drill. So I polished the ball and was surprised on how well it plays the dry lane. I feel this is a great entry level ball or a condition specific ball. What condition would depend on your hand, the ball layout and the surface. For me it's a good second block ball or a great ball to use on guardian with a short pattern.

This is a great ball for dryer conditions and lateblocks.I won't go to
a tournament with out it.It just clears the heads so easy and it's still
not really flippy,it has a very strong backend but it still has a semi
arc to it.Very good ball.I think everybody needs a ball like this stinger 2 pearl.

I drilled up the new stinger 2 piece low flare.This is a good ball for dry lanes or people with alot of revs.I used it at a foundation games tourney on the very short pattern and could get it down the lane without too much trouble.This may end up being a good ball for league play if your typical lane cond. are dry.I drilled mine with the pin over the bridge,cg swung out a little.
