I have always wanted to try one and there is one on ebay that I might try to pick up new, has anyone had it or threw it. I see them on bowlingball.com but 500$ is a little steep. Also there is a chalk on there also how do they compare, I know they are rare balls but would anyone have any idea, thanks

Little steep?  You think?

To answer your question, they are most likely going to overlap.  They are both monsters designed for oil.

I have seen them both in action and the Chalk is definitely stronger. The NV has a smooth ball motion throughout (similar to what you would see from a Brunswick ball), while the Chalk has a much stronger and definitive breakpoint shape.

If you want a crazy hooking ball = Chalk
A bit more control = NV

i have a chalk and an nvd. I know the nvd is a much stronger ball than the nv,(ok,i think).Any way my nvd was the strongest ball in my bag at 2000 with a 4 in pin under ring drill. My chalk, pin over ring at 4000 just gets stronger and stronger. The nvd and chalk comp each other splendedly and the nv imho would be a little down the line ,but with thr right drill should be able to compliment the chalk.
Would i pay 500 for either, any ball hecks no. Would i get another chalk at a reasonable price i sure would. Payed 165 for mine and to date its the most i have ever payed for a ball, but anytime i have been able to line up with it it has delivered as well as the nvd.Any way chalk is a beast nv comp chalk yeah maybe ,but 500 no way.

the NV is amazing. Dr. Andrews has one and he let me throw it. I can not recall the specks on it but it is by far my favorite ball that i have ever thrown on a heavy oiled sports pattern. I usually average 204 on sports spots but the last tournament that i went to i used it and a averaged 237. WOW. i don't like the chalk because i can not stand not being in control of the chalks crazy hook. I sold mine because i can do everything that i need to do just perfectly fine with Dr. Andrews NV. The NV has .5 board of room for error with me which is alot to me while the chalk had none. I hope this helps you out. But everyone is different
