I think it was a urethane ball with some type of particles.

Actually, I know a number of people who did quite well with the Turbo/A and the Gyro Pro Acryllium.

From what I remember, the problem with the Omega was that a cover that couldn't be easily tweaked was combined with a core that most drillers couldn't exploit.  For those bowlers lucky enough to get a good matchup, the Omega could play with the best of 'em.  For everyone else...well, Rags had a point.

BC, I drilled up an Omega at nationals just a few weeks after Suring shot 8-something to take the lead (and eventually win) singles with one.  Shot 600 with it in team, couldn't use it in D & S, never again found a good condition for it.  I agree, not many drillers then had a clue what to do with it.
