i was looking to possibly buy the big time...i have noticed that most the people that use this ball end up polishing the ball i was just wondering as to why?...i mean yes there are a lot of factors there to consider but like i said just wondering out of curiosity....

I have a big time, and I'm not quite sure what the box finish is.  I placed a relatively weak pattern in mine, pin above the fingers, cg at about 430.  3" pin.  Wound up with about 1/2oz finger and 1/2oz side. I threw two shots with this ball, and both checked up at about the arrows.  Very strong ball.  I hit it with a heavy coat of polish, and it still is the strongest ball in my bag.  I pretty much can only use it on heavy oil.  Even now with the polish and a lot of oil, sometimes it still rolls to early.  But in answer to your question, this ball reacts much better for me polished, than it does dull.  Very strong rolling and huge hooking ball, hit is excellent as well.  This ball is a steal for the price.  Hope this helps.

Box finish is 1000 grit Abralon sanded.  The coverstock itself is very powerful so people with a lot of hand really find success with polishing it.  It's a good ball for people without a lot of hand as it will roll strongly and still turn hard for them also.

thanks for the help...because i was thinking either and the real deal that my friend gave me for the heavier and longer oil patterns...unlike my exception and ace that both likes to go long and flip at the end i want these other balls to read the lane a lot quicker and more of a smooth arc to the pocket rather to give me a better read on the lane and transition of oil....any recommendations on the drilling for the big time??...

As far as the layout is concerned, I think a 4 1/2 inch pin to PAP distance along with the CG at 90 degrees would keep the ball from reading the lane too fast and smooth out the line to the pocket.  Putting the CG in a stronger position and using polish is a very popular move as well.
