black ice question
« on: October 03, 2006, 08:03:57 AM »
looking for a smooth gentle arcing ball for an older gent with slow speed and has moderate turn.  do not want anything flippy or sharp ended.  Would the black ice fit that bill??  overall impressions of the black ice would be helpful as well. thanks doug

I just drilled one up for a guy with the exact same thing in mind. I used an Elemt Ice, laid it out with a high pin around 4.5" and the cg near the track. Worked perfectly. Smooth, mellow, and hits hard.

dstanak Try the hammer ball the blue vibe the ball goes long with a nice smooth arc to it. Also your proshop driller will give you the best layout you need.

The Black Ice, (blue) Ice or Vibe would fit your (his) needs to a "T". As far as a layout, that's best be decided by your (his) driller, but any of the above balls would be perfect, IMO.

BTW, the Bkue Vibe is stronger than the purple one, so that'd be up to you ( him) as to which one.
