Brunswick Bowler needs input on Angular One
« on: November 15, 2006, 03:20:19 AM »
Hello Ebonite Forum,

I bowl with all brunswick as you can see below in my sig. But Ive thrown many Ones and Big ones. I loved The Oe but hated The Big one for some odd reason. My question is the Angluar One made for alot of oil? And is it worth buying to put above my Scrochin' Inferno(for those that know about the scorchin)? I throw at about 18 mph and with high amount of revs so I am looking for something stronger than my Scorchin' Inferno in oil.

The Angular One is a very versatile ball.  Go here and see how it compares to other balls in it's category (there is a comparison to the Radical Inferno).  It also shows how much of a difference the ball reacts to different ball surface adjustments.

Thanks and it seems as though the Radical Inferno has a very very close length and backend as the Angular One on those videos.....may not be what im looking for unless I change the surface....

Not close.  Radical is much longer out of box than Angular One.

Having both, I can honestly say it is every bit as angular as the spotlight makes it seem.  And as for the comparison to the radical, it's not even close.  The radical is much much longer out of the box, and the snap off the corner that the Angular has is probably 15 boards stronger for me.  Yea, thats a lot, but my radical is a dart.

I just watched the ebonite produced video of this ball the other day comparing it to a bunch of other high-end equipment.  It is definitely one of the strongest balls I have ever seen...  At factory 4000 grit polished, its comparable to most other heavy oil balls.. and when the surface is adjusted down to 2000 grit, 1000 grit, or even 500 grit, it becomes much stronger.  This ball definitely looks to be a winner.

I would not classify the Angular One to be a "Heavy Oil" type of ball. It being Pearl means it will shine its best in "Medium Oil". But hey, I am not an Ebonite expert, so I would go with the opinions as some people have stated above.

I would say so too but I heard this pearl is actually still stronger than its resin counter parts. ;/

Angular one is very strong.  I have one, and you have to go pretty deep if the oil isn't long enough or heavy enough.  I would put the ball in out of box condition in about the same area as the new Total inferno with a little more of a snap move at the end than the Total.  If you want it stronger just sand it, but I don't know why you would need anything stronger than a scorchin.

The Angular One is particularly strong, especially in a 500 or 1000 grit Abralon pad finish.  Don't be afraid to change the surface of the ball.  I think you'll find that this ball is as strong as you're looking for.  Check for some videos of the Angular One at:

So if got an Angular One would it fit like this.....

Scrochin'
Angular One(in OOB finish)
Radical
Vapor Zone

Still debating if this will have a place between the scrochin and radical since I have a ton of wrist/hand.
