I got to try out this device last night with my ball rep and its a great way to know all your key stats. What they do is take a basic 3 piece ball, and have you fit it to your hand like any other demo ball. There is an extra hole in the ball that you insert a mini switch grip that has basically a microchip in it to relay the data for each shot. Before each shot you pause for three seconds, this allows it to realize it's needing to record the data. Then throw your shot like normal. I threw about 8-10 shots worth of data on two separate sets and the data was nearly identical for both. You can see it for every single shot right there on the computer screen, and it also will average everything out for you as well. I do not know alot of technical data on this as i'm sure more of that will come out, but the one question I did ask was exactly how accurate is this method. He told me that they took the device to the USBC center in Texas because they wanted to disprove this device saying it wouldn't work and there were unable to do so and they in fact said it was very accurate. Hopefully this could get some more people to the demos!

They should probably sell them and make more money.

A distributor rep told me they intend to. But he said he has heard the grumbling of an expensive price tag and it may not be 100% accurate.

I was told that is was going to be included with the demo days and the price would not be changing. I can say that my rev rate and speed was nearly identical to when i had a lesson with Jasnau from last year in reno.

Anything that cost more than a can of Coke from the vending machine is expensive to us bowlers. LOL

Heard about this from some local guys and thought it was great.

Thought about it and was curious if it could be done cheaper by placing adhesive stickers on any chosen ball and using a camera to watch the ball go down lane and get readings that way.

I'm guessing if you had two or three stickers/sensors on the ball that's all it would take to plot the ball and gather the information.

So would this be the next step in the evolution of BluePrint? Because this sounds like it is doing nearly the same thing as that software is.

I would think this would go hand in hand with blue print. Having the bowlers exact specs. Never have used blue print though so not too sure

THE "Bowler's ID sensor" and "Track Fit" is the software.

Here's a sample from Ron Hicklands Facebook page from January where they were trying it on some collegiate bowlers :

(According to another post a User that tried it, thought it pretty accurate and said Ebi is hoping to have it ready for Bowl Expo but it may not be ready. With a price point around $500 for a sensor and software. maybe lower )

If it works, I would pay $500 for it.

This thing was talked about over on bowlingchat and Mo seemed to not think much of it. Saying
Quote
"From what I've heard, it only works with zero to low flaring situations. Not the real world in bowling today."

Give by what the quote below where it says that the sensor just collects the bowler's data as the player releases the ball (in the air). I don't see the flare really factoring in, given the stats it's collect,  now if it was tracking the ball down the lane that might be different.

here was some other info too.
"The Track Fit Program measure a bowler's particulars; PAP, Rev Rate, Tilt, Speed, Rotation, etc. It also provides info on the back/fwd swing, flat spot & loft.

They have developed a sensor (in testing for the last 7 yrs) which goes into the ball to measure all the data. A hole is drilled (approx 31/32) and the sensor is placed in a finger switch-grip. This hole is in addition to the actual finger holes drilled. The hole location is upper right quadrant of the ball for righties and the upper left quadrant for lefties. The sensor collects the bowler's data as the player releases the ball (in the air). So, it really doesn't matter what kind of ball you drill to record this info since the ball itself does not affect the stats. "

Breaking news,  anything not thought of by Mo,  Mo doesn't care for or will try to discredit.

Super knowledgeable guy obviously but he will also talk out of both sides of his mouth. Bashing others ideas is one of his strong suits.

Bingo.

As for what my rep said, he felt the numbers were skewed slightly for the price you pay. He also was told between 5-800 for the item to PSO's. He said that it is simple to use which was a plus, but that more accurate ways are available for the price. I personally have not tried it, but I wouldn't mind seeing how it works in person.

I'm not sure I understand some of the specs from the college bowler.  Is his PAP 3 15/16 over and 2 7/16 up (that's a lot).  I have very little tilt, but 0.67%?  Especially with such a large standard deviation.
