Ebonite Magnum Reactive
« on: November 09, 2006, 03:34:27 PM »
Hi,

I can't find much on this ball here.  A couple people in a mixed league I'm in have this ball.  They both throw it pretty well and score well with it.  I know it's a sporting goods store ball by Ebonite and probably wouldn't be considered by most here.

I'm wondering what cover stock and core this ball is made from as well as any other information.

For someone who throws that well, what is it comparable to?

Thank you.

There seem to have been several Magnums...

Black rubber ball: http://www.123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=1109

Red urethane ball: http://www.123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=1110

Another black one?: http://www.123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=1312

An orange one: http://www.123bowl.com/ball.asp?ballid=2029

They all have pancake cores, and I guess just variants from the Gyro balls which have recently been discontinued.

The Magnum Reative is a Ball that is made for some of the chain sporting good stores.  Most of them are a good cover but only have a top weight with no actual core in the ball.

I have a Magnum, its not reactive. Its my spare ball. It hooks 10 boards on really dry lanes. Plastic Coverstock, don't use inserts, well you can. Mine is drilled to move even though its a spare ball, my track goes right up the thumb and middle finger. The finger holes are cracking.
