Gamebreaker DISCONTINUED AGAIN

I can't understand why Ebonite  has discontinued this ball again. Does anyone have an idea what Ebonite is thinking?

THAT There's still not enough sales to warrant keeping them in production.
That they made that decision because they're STILLL not selling, that they must have many still on hand.
 
Buddies has been pushing them for a long time. If you love them so much, buy 2 or 3 and keep them for the future.
 
Economics still rules.

Due to USBC rule changes, the Gamebreaker cannot be produced anymore.

But it could and has been approved already. So new ones are not considered a new ball.
Unless there is a time limit on actual production for balls under the new RG limit (2.46?) , like there was for balls over the new RG differential limit of .060",  Visionary was allowed a certain time limit to produce their AMB Centaur series for a certain after the new rule, then they actually were forced by the USBC to stop production. Not sure if Ebonite was given a similar timie limit.

It isn't a spec problem it is a sales problem. It runs a cycle then it is done. Shelf life is short.

Don't know if sales had anything to do with it or not, but from the Ebonite website:
 
The Gamebreaker will be available for a limited time only and will NOT  be returning to the playing field next year, due to a change in RG  specifications passed by the USBC.

Ric, I don't remember the exact day, but I think the month was June but I am not positive about that.

 

I love the Gamebreaker. I have 2 of them, one approx 2 years old (14#) and the other (15#)  bought this past May.

i would have made 2 million of them, then "find" them few hundred at time and sell them to distributors each year.

I remember when the GameBreaker was re-released and even Ebonite was saying online that it was only for a limited time.  Part of it is the usual sales cycle.  The other thing is the USBC changing the core specs.

actually no i was only 17 and it was just  a 8am house league so i was still waking up the first game. second game went threw transition and towards the end i got lined up and packed 12 shots. if i remember a couple almost puked 7 pins and one may have tripped a 6 pin but other than that it was a house shot so i had a bunch of room. my first 300 was much better lol. i have that one on video and looking back i was so awful lol
