« on: February 13, 2012, 01:35:33 PM »
Drilled up the S minutes before league. 658 for the night. Had a few in a row, second game.
Very controllable arc with great Hit.
Mr. Pursuit(A) you are next, my  friend.

I'm sorry but still not impressed, besides you paid for the most expensive ebonite ball ever and shot 658...hope it was on a sport shot...whatta figjam.  Hopefully the world buys this ball before its a flop...ill pick one up for the gf  when they're $69.95 on clearance LOL. I'm sorry, this is more aimed at ebo intl...not you man...you post some great stuff on here, I'm just not a fan of expensive equipment that you gotta buy 2 of.

Considering they are not out, I highly doubt he paid for the balls. Second what is your beef with Ebonite? Brunswick has come out with 3 High Performance balls within 3 months of each other. Every company comes out with new releases every other month go bash all of them. It's not just one. And honestly it is called business. If you had a ball come out and sales dropped after a month or so, then I would want to replace it with a new one that would sell.

I see plenty of people dropping $250+ for nexus, nanos, etc around here.
Who cares how much they spend if it makes them happy.
Doesn't mean you are any better or worse off because of it.

Let the man drill up 10 of them if he wants.
quit your trolling...................

Brunswick rolls out, Storm covers die die die, everyone has an opinion. its there right.

just keep bowling with what you like and do your best.

Whoa, I don't need the regional fan boys butting in here.  I admit I was a bit harsh @ the company who claimed they would release less to help the pro shops.  I'm a consumer, and a business student...I fully understand Ebos goal here....I don't buy it as a concept, and I won't be buying it on its WWRD...balldoctor I appologize, everyone else shouldnt you be busy taking orders on these? Remember they'll be clearanced out by summer.  I'm not sorry for what I believe in...I'M a man in America, ill buy what I want, feel what I want, oh yeah, forgot one, say what I want.  Btw I love being the one who people consult in my area before buying  a bowling ball, I don't believe b-s, and I am not afraid to read between the lines for my friends before they make a ball purchase.   The bowlers in NW Indiana know I recommend the best choice regardless of brand.  They ask me because I'm a great bowler, have had success with everyball I touch...and understand concepts that wannabe pro shops don't.  Sorry folks, I won't be pursuing, or pushing-s anything else here in the forum.  Have a good one guys!

hold on, time out. billdozer did you read your post before submitting it? you state that your well respected in nw ind because your a great bowler, you own & operate a pro shop, so i would assume you have been bowling for atleast 20 years. i for 1 find it extremely hard to believe in 20 years you have not thrown a ball that didnt match up to your game. thats all please continue.

I don't think you read him correctly.  He's so good that he doesn't even need to throw a ball (like the Pursuit) or even wait for the release date to watch others, to know if it's good or not.  He can just look at the marketing material and price and he knows, he's that good.  That's why everyone goes to him for his recommendations.  Let's just leave it at that.

OP, keep the info coming.  I'm curious to see if the two balls react noticably different.  If I'm reading this right, they have the same cover and same basic core shape, but the one is slightly asymmetrical (0.008).  Seems like the difference will be pretty minor and most bowlers would have a difficult time justifying the purchase of both of them.

The opinion expressed here represents all major bowling ball and equipment manufacturers, not my own.

And yet you have 20 top end HP balls pictured in your arsenal including 3 of the 4 Missions?

They are marketing to you dude. You're the guy they want to sell these to.

Not trying to be degrading to you....I'm the same way. I like to try out the new releases so that when customer walk in I can give them an honest opinion. But if you are reccomending stuff to people without even giving a ball like the Pursuit a chance then you are doing them a disservice.

I think the problem is companies don't give their products enough time to sale. Last year for example, within a 6 month period just in the Columbia brand there was the World Beater, the Pure Physics and the Ransom Demand. Im no expert and will never claim to be, but those three balls can cover pretty much the same condition with drilling and surface tweaks. Don't take that as a shot at Columbia or EBI, it was just an example.

The problem with bowling balls is alot like computers now days, why buy ball x today when 2 weeks later that same company is gonna push ball z in our face that hooks more than ball x.

To me it seems that all the companies need to take a step back and put quality ahead of quantity again. I'd much rather buy a ball that has been researched and developed to death before it hits the market than one that has just been pushed out because the previous model was a flop. That seems to create the problem much more than solving it, imo.

All this along with all the floor level pricing makes it seem shady to some folks, when thats most likely not the intent of the manufacturer at all. If the customer feels taken advantage of, that makes the situation worse.

Still taking your lunch money one strike at a time....

First and foremost I'm a Storm/Roto Grip guy, for some reason they just match up with me better.  I've had success with Ebonite stuff (the One and the TNV) but I like Storm better.  That being said I think all companies roll out a ton of balls these days, what I like to see is a popular/performing ball stay in the product line.  IMO this is where Storm is above the rest.  If you look at the last few years their shelf life is greater than any other brand.  The Hyroad, Virtual Gravity, and many others stayed in the their respective line for more than 3-4 months ( i mean jeez the Hyroad is still in the product line)  I don't believe any other manufacturer can say that about any of their balls.

Not really on topic to the OP, but just my 2 cents on some of the posts
