the big one vs. xxxcel
« on: January 25, 2006, 08:50:11 AM »
On the Ebonite website it shows that the Big One has more overall hook(40) than the xxxcel(30), but the xxxcel is listed as the heavy oil ball and that the Big One is med. heavy. Why? I see that the xxxcel starts up sooner but still. If you are looking for backend movement on wet lanes what ball would you want.

I think some said that Ebonite downgrade this ball to a light/medium oil ball.  I don't think The One is a heavy oil ball for the average bowler. There is always a person who could hook a plastic ball in heavy oil a ton.

The XXXcel is a great medium to heavy oil ball but more on the heavy medium and longer oil patterns.

That is MHO.

His he referring to the Big One, not the original The One..

The Big One will be much stronger in heavy oil than the xxxcel.. The new coverstock will be very strong.. People that have tried the Big One says it 6 or 7 boards stronger then the original The One..
