Seems like there has been a lot of Total NVs for sale on the board.... strange for such a new release. Anyone else notice this?

These guys were more like buzzsaws than fluffers.  One guy has the highest average in our league I think.

Now you can say, it has to be them (not the ball).  Of course it is, you still have to know how to bowl.  But the way people were talking about this ball was like it would fix all of your carry problems and bowl for you.

The thing I noticed was that the ball definitely wasn't working and they wouldn't change until it was too late.

If these guys continued to use the Total NV or any ball for that matter and it wasn't working, its their own fault. Thats one thing about being a 200+ average bowler. You have to know when to switch balls..

I am a 210+ average bowler and I know I am guilty of staying with a ball to long, but I am getting better at making a ball change quicker.. Its a fine line..

I drill up ALOT of new balls and the Total NV is a special bowling ball, but a ball is only as good as the person throwing it. Period..

For the Anti-TNVers (who aparently doesn't own one yet):

The TNV is very strong!! It holds energy like no other ball I've owned.......

I thought my Doom came in hard - it carries well but very jumpy, even after surface adjustments.

I thought my Strike Zones were perfect - if you can't swing it out and give it enough room due to an 8-board out-of-bounds, they're too strong and early.

I thought my Danger Zone was good - good for most conditions, but not the best carry.

I thought my Messenger Ti-Pearl was the best all-around ball ever made - but like my Strike Zones, it needs room to move, can't play it tight.

My TNV allows me to play straight up any board 12 to 5, and it snaps in with tremendous power, no power loss down the lane.
My TNV allows me to play deeper when I need oil, 25 to 35 out to around 10, still tremendous on the backend.
And my most favorite thing about the TNV, in a house where pins seem to be dead and on shots that are seemingly perfect constantly leaves 7s, the TNV crushes the pins WHENEVER it hits the pocket, the best carry in my arsenal.

(btw, my house shot is not typical, it's like walking into a tournament condition every week, low averages on every league.  Flood 8 out, burnt track, lots of carrydown - nothing seems to move.  So far my best balls here have been the TNV, Apex Aggression and Vortex III TPS - ALL Ebonite)
--------------------
Brunswick preferably, but always open to others!!

Two Brunswick Strike Zones
One Brunswick Danger Zone
One Brunswick Plastic Rhino
One Hammer Doom Raw Hammer
One Ebonite Total NV
One AMF Maximum Velocity
One Rotogrip Super Sonic
One Columbia Messenger Ti/Pearl

...all in league rotation

Yes there have been more then a few for sale !!!

Well I had one, just did not like the ball also didnt seem to match up very well for me.

I even went to the pro shop where I bowl, the operator even  attended one of those Ebonite drilling classes, (and he passed the class).

Just did not like the ball period. Have had better luck with my Domination, and the Shift, then I had with the TNV.

Is it a bad ball, no it just wasn't for me.

If someone sells a ball after 1 bad game, thats stupid IMO..

It could be the ball just didn't match up with the lane conditions..

Hehe I saw a 200 avg guy put up a 120 game with his TNV this week.  It definitely revolutionized pocket splits as we know it.

jkiser01, I know what lane conditions I had. I may not have the total knowledge you have , but the BALL and I just did not match up very well for me !!!!! I did put more then 1 game on the ball though.

You should  know there are balls that DO NOT match up well for some people.

I guess I am one of the "stupid" people.

On my first one, it got stronger the more I used it. Traded it because of alot of overlap.

I just picked another up on trade, with a weaker drilling, and hope for it to fit in better though.

As always, there are a LOT of "experts" on here that "know everything"!  And there are also a LOT of "touchy" ball owners here!  This site, at this time, it's touchy Ebonite owners!

I have to finally admit that My TNV is awesome. I made some harsh coverstock comments about two weeks after I punched one of these up and needless to say that I didn't give it(me and the ball) enough time to figure each other out. I'm initially what you would called a beginning bowler, one who always has a million questions to ask and hardly ever understands. Any who, people(beginners) just think that they can purchase a hyped up ball and expect it to knock the pins down all by itself, which I will be the first to tell you that this is not the case. From my little experience I have learned that even though this ball has turned out to be one heck of a ball it would have never been this good if I haven't actually studied examined and analyzed every aspect of the game(Bowling). The ball is only a certain percent of the whole picture.

However, the way this ball reacts, recovers, and eventually turns clutch can be a true asset to to your game.
