from what i remember they focused on oil absorption to gain traction in oil. i remember the total NV video they squirted the ball with lane oil and you watched the oil disappear within seconds. it soaks up oil real quick so people think they experienced ball death quicker than normal. just rejuvenate a little more often and youll be fine.

Thanks.

I have a Lane Breaker, and I wouldn't exactly consider it a ball for medium/heavy oil.  It has Traxion Reactive 0.48, same as the NVD.  When looking at the NVD it says "is a stronger version of our Traxion Reactive cover, Traxion Reactive 0.48.  This cover has kept the oil absorption rate at 10.1 (the GB #) while  increasing the Traxion Factor to 0.48. This increase in the number will  allow the NVD to produce a stronger ball in higher oil volume  environments."

I wasn't sure what the numbering system indicated.  I saw they have a 0.39 (NVS), and a 0.45 (Complete NV) but haven't followed Ebonite releases, so I have no idea where those balls fit.

Common sense would say that 0.48 is stronger than 0.39, but with coverstocks you can't always use common sense!

My Lane Breaker works well on our lower volume, shorter THS, but I have noticed that sometimes it comes back without a drop of oil (gone by the time I take my next shot).  Maybe I'll give it a hot water bath or the hook again treatment and see how it does.
