V2 series

sup, own a v2 sweet and have never thrown any others. is there any real advantages in having the whole line, or is one sufficient.

love the v2 sweet. it rocks my face off. THE BIG LEBOWSKI is a great bowling movie

I don't throw any of the V2's, but I've heard many people say that the original V2 Sanded is one of the most versatile balls ever made.  I would tend to agree, seeing is they are still in production after being introduced a few years ago.  I'm sure some of other ebonite people will chime in here.

My wife has 2 of the V2 line, and she says the difference, on the lanes we use, it's not that much difference. I use Storm and can't say, she loves the coverstock and will NOT use any other...she has 2..V2 Sanded & Sweet...a White Dot for spares, but all I know is she'll change with conditions and never seems to not have one of them work for her. She kicks my butt, not that that is saying much, but she doesn't want more that her 2. Hope that helped.

I'm not an Ebonite guy.....not that I dislike them either...however....if I were to go to Ebonite stuff....I'd have most if not all the V2s.....

Even though I like mostly Storm / Dynothane equipment I make sure to always have a V2 Sanded in the bag with me.  Ball has been around for 5 years and it's still a great piece.

I love Ebonite but I wasn't crazy about the V2 Sanded. I think it wasn't drilled properly however. The V2 sweet and the V2 sanded are 2 of the best balls that you could buy.

As I've stated earlier. 2 of the Best balls Ebonite has now are the Primetime Sanded and the Fantastic Xcel Particle. The Primetime is not real expensive either.

V2's are a good ball across many conditions. I believe they tend to smooth out the condition. That doesn't mean they are weak but very controllable almost too controllable at times. I have 2 V2 reactives currently also owned the V2 particle. Some people don't like the ball at first as the roll is a bit different and release errors are not covered up by reaction. With that being said I would recommend that series to almost anyone. I have also heard real good things about the Excel particle.  The nice thing about the line is that the roll characteristics are the same because of the core but the shapes and break points are different because of covers. If I were going the direction your contemplating it might go

Xcel particle - med-heavy oil
V2 sanded - med-light to medium heavy
V2 sweet - early roll pearl- mediums
V2 clean - longer weaker solid, good backend
spare

If you like the sweet you should try the sanded for more oil. You might need to tweak the cover to make it do what you want but it can fit the bill most of the time. They are a cornerstone for Ebonite and probably will for a while as it is the best performing series from them hands down. Good luck and good bowling

I have the V2 sanded(polished right now, using it for lighter oil as it has over 500+ games), V2 clean, Primetime sanded, and Tornado Lt. Blue/Violet (though I rarely use it) and they all have something in common - versatility and contol. They are very consistent and though they are not that strong in the backend for me, they have pretty good midlane and carry. Over in my center, Ebonite probably most popular. Though I have not tried the new expensive balls, their mid price balls, i believe, will outperform any high performance ball currently on the market. My primetime sanded hooks just as much just a little smoother and carries just as good as the UI I just bought and it was half the price.

In my opinion, some of the Ebonite statistics dont fit the ball. For example, the Primetime Sanded supposedly has a breakpoint of 8.7 something but mine has a pretty tame arc to it. May be the drilling, I dont know. Had it drilled to get through the heads cleanly enough and be strong in midlane and backend.

I have owned the V2 sanded, pearl and strong. The sanded was by far the best. The pearl skidded too far for me, and the strong hit like a wet pancake if it caught dry too early. The sanded hit/carried hooked consistently and effectively for the year + that I had it, plus it was one of he originals with the Trimax logo on it the side. But it got replaced in the bag and since it had multiple plugs in it I sold it. But a great ball, hooked a ton in oil when sanded, sharp backend when polished.
