When will Ebonite learn

Take the Phased Bomber reactive coverstock(a verstile coverstock that has longetivity as the Overtime proved) and rap it around the V2 core and make another ball for the generations. The Smash(although good) doesn't quite get there. IMHO.

Yeah all the new stuff looks great. I just love the V2 core and wish they would use something other the the GB covers with it.

When will you learn that manufacturers DO NOT WANT balls to last very long, that way they can always sell you another one.

It's not just Ebonite either. Virtually ALL ball companies build balls designed to absorb oil, saying that is what makes them perform.

High performance and low durability. the manufacturers love it because it keeps their sales alive.

Like I said, it's not just Ebonite. A few companies have made adequate equipment with decent lifespans, so why don't they all?

I think it's because making them absorb oil in order to work is cheaper, easier, and is "planned obsolesence", which amounts to a modicum of job security.

Why don't Lanemasters and Visionary balls die out as quickly as many others? Or seem to wear out so fast?

they make sponge bowling balls cuz they know americans are too lazy to make the effort to take care of a bowling ball.

if you clean and resurface and rejuvenate on a regular basis and actually take care of a bowling ball every ball can last 1000 games. its not terribly hard.

I'd rather see the V2 core inside the Big Bang cover, no polish, no particles  with a 2000 grit finish.

You could also put the same core inside the Big Bang XL polished for lighter oil.

This is true in my experience as well.

Make it an exact duplicate of the ICE on the outside and the original V2 on the inside. That's when I'll get excited about Ebonite again.

Juggernaut,

My point was not a criticism of Ebonite or the GB covers as I have primarily thrown Ebonite for 25 years(also have a Big One that still performs fairly well on the right condition with several hundred games on it) But just take that great V2 core and wrap a tried and true reactive coverstock around it. Much like Brunswick continues to use PK18 on some of their equipment. Every manufacturer needs a workhorse.

I'd gladly take another V2 Clean and V2 Pearl. The Pinslasher and Playmaker were disapointing.
