Because it was a high end ball that didn't hook?

All it did was carry/strike - no big impressive hook to get people ask what you were throwing - LOL

NO,   All high end balls are not hook monsters....

It was a ball that had decent length and was SMOOTH off the break point... Much like Global's Break Point...

However it had too much hype and because it appeared to have a dull cover, people think that means it's an oil monster... It was not...

If used on the right shot, it was a great ball...

But if used in too much oil,   then it was being used on the wrong shot... Therefore leading people to believe it "did not hook"

Now the Mission is a true oil ball....

And it will hook...

If you can't get this ball to work for you, take up table tennis....

I tried a Striking Motion at an Ebonite demo day once. Hated it. It was too smooth on the back, even with a layout that for me is usually fairly skid/flip. I didn''t carry off-hits very well at all. Light pocket was a guaranteed flat 10 pin. Conversely, the Pin Slasher let me play further right wiht speed and carry or move left and slow hook it and carry, and the NVD let me move even deeper. It just wasn''t a very good matchup for the way I roll a ball. The core didn''t help the ball rev up quite enough for me, and the coverstock seemed to want to pick up its roll a little too early.

bad marketing.  Plain and simple.  It was a good ball for its condition (medium to medium-dry).  If it was marketed for those conditions at a lower price point, it wouldn't have been considered a dud.

I agree, not all high end balls are hook monsters...but the popular ones are. Most league bowlers don't want to buy a ball at a high end price that hooks as much as your average mid line ball.
