Would like to replace 2 balls with 1: Suggestions??
« on: October 15, 2006, 01:09:36 AM »
I have a no limit and overtime that I would like to replace with one ball.  I use the infinite one for my heavier conditions.  I am just trying to limit my ball choices at league so maybe, just maybe my consistency will get better.  Each of these balls have a different reaction and me changing during league, is usually ugly for 3 or 4 frames, which just kills my score.  Any suggestions on a release friendly, easy revving ball would be great!!

Ok, here goes

PAP was measured as 5/1/2 up 1 on my overtime. I have medium revs and play more like a tweener.  Who knows about the conditions, so far this year it has been everything from light to mediums.  Last year was always heavy (Thus the infinite one).  Our lanes have been drier in the middle and heavy on the outside.  If you get outside of second arrow the ball won't come back.  I'm standing 30 and shoot for 15 with the no limit.  This ball will flare a ton, just doesn't get a consitent reaction.  It is probably more of my speed issues than the ball.  The center has turned off the mph on league nights, so that is just a gut feeling.  I have adjusted the surface of the no limit and the weight hole.  At 360 abralon the ball had the best move, just wasn't sure how far it would turn! OOB was never sure if the ball would turn!  I've had this thing at 360, 500, 800, 1000, polish, no polish, just no consistentcy and just when you thought you had it nailed, it hit the pins like a turd. I have had a hard time getting the no limit to rev like the other two balls.

The overtime has always been reliable.  It is just getting some age to it now and it's not as good on these lanes with the outside being wet.  I always used to play it down second arrow and had good success.  Now there is just too much oil there to turn consistently.  It is not a bad ball by any means, I'm just tired of carrying 3 and thought if there was one good ball to replace these two, it would limit my choices and hopefully increase the score.

A few balls that have been suggested to me are the doom, spitfire and the one.  I have only seen one doom and no one else here has the other two.  I'm just looking for a release friendly, easy rev, consistent ball. Any suggestions????
