there's nothing exact in all 3 areas, the XXcel is same Rg/Diff, core ( xxxcel is turned a bit) but the covers are different.

You probably could, but why buy a ball that isn't made for what you want it to do ?
If you want an Xcel Line, then get the XXcel, or better yet the Xcel Particle.

I have both and love both of them. One is heavy the other med, I do not believe in buying a ball then knowing you'll have to adjust the cover for what you want it to do when there is a ball in that line that will do what oyu want it to do, JMO.

Ebonitekid,  I see what azguy is saying, but if the price is right you should be able to lay it out & polish it so it would work fine on med to med-heavy. Like Azguy said, it's best to get the ball that's best suited for any given lane condition, but it's your option. Talk to your driller about laying it out for something other than max hook. Just my opinion.
