Yet another question about the Mission
« on: February 19, 2010, 12:47:42 AM »
Okay, I am seriously looking at this ball, but I am wondering about it''s ability to handle oil and carry down.  Being left handed, I run into more carry down on medium to heavy oil conditions and I need some opinions about its'' ability to get through carry down.

I am looking for a medium-heavy to heavy oil ball, but I am not sure this is it since it has a pearl cover.

Your Kidding right....

No problem with this beast handling oil...

It may be a pearl,  but the OOB finish is a 2000 A pad...

Most of the time, people take it up to 4000, and polish...

Sir
Well I can certainly see why you or anyone would question it...

They keep coming out with high end balls in a dull finish that can't handle oil....

The Evolve for example....

Yet it was not meant to be an oil ball....  so why, why bring it out dull and confuse everyone into thinking it can handle oil?????

I polish my Evolves before I put them on display....

Now that they are on closeout,  sold 3 yesterday......

But the Mission is doing what it is suppose to do...

Handle oil.....

And make Barnes look bad on TV.... oops   sorry...

No problems with mine on any oil down the lane... biggest problem is it finding dry too soon for me. Mine is very touche when meeting any dry boards up in the fronts, loves to burn up. Ball is amazing on fresh, mine is too much ball OOB for broken down lanes, but I didn't get it for broken down shots.

The Mission has to have oil.  If you bowl on medium-heavy this is your ball!

Thanks again guys, I appreciate the replies.  I am right with you there about recent Ebo balls jls, but this one does look good.

I had a guy shoot a 779 against me last night with his brand new mission, he could have had a 300/800, but he threw a bad tenth shot in the third game...

An older friend of mine who does not turn the ball much made it look good last night too, so it seems to fit any style of bowler, which is nice.

One word to describe the Mission:  Sick

And this is coming from someone that had previously vowed never to throw Ebonite again after the V2 series...

I agree, the Mission is great. After the Evolve I said enough and was done with Ebonite till I saw the Mission... pretty happy I got this one!

If the coverstock holds up after 50+ games I may purchase a case of 15''s to stick in the closet for 10+ years...They might be worth as much if not more then what the original V2 is now.

Sir
The Mission is a 2.48,  the Evolve is a 2.57...

Now before the Mission was born...  If we had to,  we would take the Evolve down to 500, and then bring it up to 1000 or 2000, depending on who was throwing it.

But since the birth of the Mission...  We don''t have to do that anymore...

If someone wants an Oil Ball... We can sell them the Mission...

No need now to take the Evolve down...

So now we polish it...  Looks great polished...

And we sell it as a go long ball for lighter patterns...

Just because one puts on a Nike shirt doesn''t mean they will hit the ball like Tiger.....

Did I mention we sold 3 yesterday, and 1 more today....

That may be a record.... oops   sorry

Plus the  fact that the ball is on closeout, doesn''t hurt....

I sure hope my dist. doesn''t run out.....
