The One or Action
« on: January 31, 2006, 09:39:01 AM »
Okay, if anyone can offer advice I am all ears.

I took almost 10 years off bowling and started back up last fall.

I throw about 18-19 mph without too much hand (usually swing fron 8-13 out to 5 or so depending on conditions). In my hayday (around 1995 or so) I averaged around 200-215 depending on the house (used to bowl in St. Louis).

Well I am back and my "arsenal" pretty much consists of an old Purple Buzzsaw and a Hammer Big Rig Diesel that a friend gave me when I started again (and a PowerTorq for spares - the worst ball I ever bought in my life!!).

I am looking for a little more ball and from what I have seen and read, the reactions of Ebonite's The One and Columbia's Action match up with my game the best. Does anyone have experience with both and have some insight to pass along?

Thanks for your time

At first glance i would go with The One just because right now it is a very popular and very good ball. But the fact that you throw it on the harder side with  little hand, id say go with the Action. The low RG will get the ball to rev up for you even without revs, and i think it would suit wour game better.

i have both. the action is smoother and more controlling. the One goes a bit longer and hooks hard on the backend so u can cover more boards. both hit fairly well so its just a matter of what u prefer.
